Hi Y’all

Just a brief note on our trip. We were accompanied on the trip by Joan’s twin sisterJean, and her husband.

We lodged in a condo at Windsor, which is about 70 miles north of San Francisco, off 101.

On Saturday, the 21st, we enjoyed traveling on the Napa Valley Wine Train. Had a great meal, and did some wine tasting.

On Sunday we went to Oroville to visit Joan and Jean’s brother Ed . This was a 4 hour drive. It was good to see him again.

On Monday we traveled the Sonoma wine country and did some more tasting.

On Tuesday we took a ride on the Roaring Camp Railroad through some beautiful Redwood tree forests near Felton.

On Wednesday we went back to Oroville to visit brother Ed again.

On Thursday we visited the Armstrong Redwoods State Reserve located near Guerneville. From there we traveled route1 south and had a great view of the Pacific ocean. We had lunch at the Tides restaurant located next to the ocean. We learned that it was the location for the Alfred Hitchcock movie, “The Birds”. We then drove into Bodego where the schoolhouse seen in the movie was located. Now we want to see the movie again.

We flew home on Friday.

All in all it was a wonderful trip.
